Rockets Waive Hayes and Langford

HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets have waived forward Chuck Hayes and guard Keith Langford, General Manager Carroll Dawson announced today.

Hayes (6-6, Kentucky), a rookie free agent, averaged 0.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in four preseason games with the Rockets. He previously participated with Houston in the 2005 Minnesota Summer League, averaging 6.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in five games. Hayes finished his collegiate career at Kentucky ranked 35th in scoring (1,211 points), seventh in rebounding (910), ninth in blocks (128), eighth in steals (170) and 16th in assists (292) in school history.

Langford (6-4, Kansas), who was also in his first NBA training camp, averaged 2.3 points and 0.7 assists in three preseason games with Houston. He finished his collegiate career as the sixth all-time leading scorer in Kansas history with 1,812 points. Langford also ranked sixth all-time in minutes played (3,931) and 16th in 3-point field goals made (102).
