Orlando, FL – The Orlando Magic will hold their 2006-07 training camp at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, beginning Tuesday, October 3. It marks the ninth time that the Magic have held camp at UNF. In addition, the Magic have signed free agents Jackie Manuel (G/F, 6-5, 192, 3/29/83, North Carolina) and Kasib Powell (F, 6-7, 215, 3/18/81, Texas Tech). The roster stands at 17 players (roster to follow).
The Magic will hold their annual Media Day today, Monday, October 2, from 1-3 p.m. at the RDV Sportsplex. Media is asked to use the entrance located off of Keller Road. Following Media Day, the team will immediately depart for Jacksonville.
Practices will be held at the UNF Arena from October 3-7 and are closed to the public. Media availability will be towards the end of each morning session. All times and length of practices are subject to change, so please call the Communications Department to confirm daily times. The team will also hold a free public scrimmage on Saturday, October 7, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Orlando begins the preseason on October 10 @ Charlotte. The first home preseason game will be on Tuesday, October 17 vs. Atlanta. The Magic open the 2006-07 regular season at home on Wednesday, November 1 vs. Chicago.
