Magic Beat the Heat, Finish 3-2 at Summer League
The Orlando Magic wrapped up their appearance at the Pepsi Pro Summer League on Friday, defeating the Miami Heat, 85-70, to finish the week with a 3-2 record. Erik Daniels led Orlando on Day 5 with 20 points, while Alpha Bangura scored 18, Marlon Parmer added 15 and James Augustine and Joe Shipp each pitched in with 10 apiece. After a stellar week, Travis Diener was given the day off. Miami got 14 points from Earl Barron and 10 from Torin Francis.
In Day 5's first game, Tyrus Thomas' 22 points helped lead the Chicago Bulls to a 92-77 win over the New Jersey Nets. In the final game of this year's Summer League, the Indiana Pacers improved to 3-2 with their 106-93 win against the Charlotte Bobcats. Snap Hunter led the way for the Pacers with 24 points. ABOUT THE PEPSI PRO SUMMER LEAGUE The Orlando Magic, Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat and New Jersey Nets will be competing in this year's Pepsi Pro Summer League, held July 10-14. All of this year's games will be played on the Magic Practice Court at the RDV Sportsplex. Each game will consist of four, 10-minute quarters. Due to limited space, the games are not open to the public. |
