The forward played collegiately for the University of Rhode Island from 2007-2011. James saw action in his first two games in Tulsa last weekend against Fort Wayne.
On the transition from playing in Israel to the NBA D-League:
“I left Israel, had four or five days off and came straight to Tulsa. I have been concentrating on getting acclimated with the new team. I have already played with some great players that I have heard about before. Everything has been great in Tulsa—the players, the coaching staff, the people. Everything is very professional around here. I want to continue working hard.”
On his experience playing in Israel:
“It helped me a lot. I came out of college and went over to a very good league. My brother is also over there. I was playing good basketball and there was a lot of talent. I decided it was best for me to return to the US and continue my professional career here. I am excited for this opportunity and I am looking forward to working towards my goal of playing at the next level.”
On the expectations of playing for the 66ers:
“It is all about defense and playing hard. The coaching staff always wants us to play with a lot of effort, and I pride myself on that. I love playing for coaches that will push you to make you be an ever better pro. That is exactly what I need.”
On how he would describe his game:
“I like to be versatile on the court. My focus is playing hard, tough defense and getting rebounds. I try to make my teammates better. I have areas in my game that need to be improved so I can be an all-around good basketball player.”
